A short bio

When Greg was 10, his father offered to teach him guitar: "If you start playing now, one day people will love you."

He imagined what it would be like to be admired for such a skill, and realized he didn't want to be liked by strangers. He decided that he didn't want to learn to play. It would be nearly a decade before he was to reconsider.

In his teens, Greg struggled with depression and was in serious danger. He dropped out of high school and devoted his time to nonproductive activities. Through some miracle of intuition, Greg was able to convince himself that there was some purpose to life, and that if he sought it out, he would eventually find it. Though his depression continued for some years, he was able to begin a series of experiments in adopting new attitudes and behaviors that would eventually shape his destiny.

One such experiment led Greg, then 17, to the force of music, which had waited patiently for his return. Recalling the unparalleled therapy of listening to a favorite song, he played just three notes from an old guitar discovered in the attic. He was captivated in those three notes. A musician was born.

Overjoyed at this discovery, he approached his friends and family and proudly announced that one day he would be an exceptional musician, and that he would go to school to study music and become a professional. He began practicing incessantly and prepared to apply to Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Two years later, the letter came. Explicitly, the letter offered him a chance to study at Berklee. Implicitly, it meant the end of a life of unmet expectations.

During his time at Berklee, Greg studied with world-class musicians and found an opportunity to reshape himself through newfound enthusiasm. 14-hour days became normal, made effortless by limitless musical energy. He graduated in 2011.

Beginning in his third year at Berklee, Greg launched his career as a professional musician, creating a school of guitar in Boston, just steps from his alma mater. He wrote a 5-volume guitar method book. He is currently expanding his guitar school into a national franchise through web and brick-and-mortar schools.

Owning a business can be ideal because it afford the owner the time, resources and focus needed to pursue a variety of projects. Greg continues to strive for musical excellence, and is always excited when interesting offers and projects come his way. Greg is very grateful to have survived his teenage years and to have emerged powerfully, with a clear vision for future transformation.
